Dolphin (SP 874)


Motorboat:

  • The fifth Dolphin was built in 1911 as Ora Belle by H. C. Carson Love
  • Renamed Dolphin prior to June 1918
  • Acquired by the Navy 21 July 1918
  • Commissioned USS Dolphin (SP 874), 24 August 1918
  • Returned to her owner, John A. Miller of Georgetown, SC, 16 December 1918
  • Fate unknown.

  • Displacement 10 t.
  • Length 40'
  • Beam 10' 2"
  • Draft 3' 6"
  • Speed 8 kts.
  • Complement: Six
  • Propulsion: One 27hp 3-cylinder Standard gasoline engine, one shaft.
