Tanker: Built in 1916 by William Cramp and Sons, Philadelphia, PA; Completed in December 1916; Acquired by the Navy 9 January 1918 from the Standard Oil Co. and commissioned USS William Rockerfeller (ID 1581) the same day; Torpeoded and sunk 21 May 1918 by the German coastal minelayer submarine UC-58.

Specifications: Displacement 15,500 t.; Length 446'; Beam 58' 2"; Draft 27' 6"; Speed 10.5 kts.; Complement 51; Armament none.
