Calvert (SP 2274)


Motorboat:

  • The first Calvert was built in 1910 by T. E. Tyler, Fishing Creek, MD
  • Placed in service 24 August 1917
  • Delivered to the Navy 17 January 1918
  • Struck from the Navy Register 26 November 1918 and returned to her owner, the Conservation Commission of Maryland
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 99 t.
  • Length 44'
  • Beam 15'
  • Draft 2' 6"
  • Speed 9.5 kts.
  • Complement: Five
  • Armament: One .30 cal Lewis machine gun
  • Propulsion: One 36hp Hettinger gasoline engine, one shaft.
