  • The first Griswold was built in 1899 by A. Nicholson, Albany, NY
  • Acquired by the Navy 12 August 1918
  • Commissioned 3 September 1918
  • Decommissioned 9 June 1919
  • Struck from the Navy Register 20 June 1919 and returned to her owner
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 133 t.
  • Length 92' 2"
  • Beam 25'
  • Draft 5' 6"
  • Speed 8.6 kts.
  • Complement: Eight
  • Propulsion: One 200hp vertical compound steam engine, one shaft.
