  • Built in 1917 as War Archer by the Northwest Steel Co., Portland, OR
  • Launched 13 January 1918
  • Acquired by the Navy 6 August 1918
  • Commissioned USS West Shore (ID 3170), 9 August 1918 at New York
  • Decommissioned 4 March 1919 at New York, struck from the Navy list and returned to the United States Shipping Board
  • Abandoned in 1929/1930
  • Scrapped in 1930 at Baltimore, MD.

  • Length 423' 9"
  • Beam 54' 2"
  • Depth of hold 27' 8"
  • Draft 24' ½"
  • Speed 10.5 kts.
  • Complement 70
  • Armament: One 5"/51 and one 3"/50 mount
  • Propulsion: Three single ended boilers, one 2,500shp Curtis steam turbine with reduction gear, one shaft.
