Motorboat:

  • Built in 1916 by Fellows Yacht and Launch Co., Los Angeles, CA for use by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and Edward W. Scripps
  • Acquired by the Navy 18 July 1918
  • Served as Ellen Browning (ID 3234) in a non-commissioned status
  • Reclassified as a District Patrol Craft, YP-3234, 7 July 1923 and transferred to the Navy's small boat list
  • Believed to have been returned to the Scripps Institution
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Length 23'
  • Beam 4' 11"
  • Draft 1' 10"
  • Speed 25.2 kts.
  • Propulsion: One 90hp Sterling gasoline engine, one shaft.
