Floating Derrick: Built in 1914 as Captain Dud No. S507 a wooden, pontoon hull, steel "A" frame with a copper sheathed house by S. Flory, Bangor, PA; Acquired by the Navy in 1918 from the Thames Towboat Co. of New London, CT and placed in service as Captain Dud (ID 3507); Designated YD-43; Assigned to the 5th Naval District (Norfolk, VA); Rebuilt in 1932; Placed out of service in 1956. Fate unknown.

Specifications: Displacement unknown; Length 95'; Beam 41' 8"; Draft unknown; Speed non-self propelled; Boom capacity 25 t.; Complement unknown; Armament none.
