Freighter:

  • Built in 1918 by the American Shipbuilding Co., Detroit, MI
  • Acquired by the Navy 10 September 1918 at Brest, France and commissioned the same day
  • Decommissioned 15 August 1919 at New York and returned to the United States Shipping Board
  • Sold for scrap in 1927 to the Ford Motor Co.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 1,447 t.
  • Length 261'
  • Beam 43' 6"
  • Draft 21'
  • Speed 9 kts.
  • Complement 52
  • Armament: One 3"/50 mount
  • Propulsion: Two single ended boilers, one verticle triple expansion steam engine, one shaft.
