USRM Vigilant


Revenue-Marine Cutter:

  • The first Vigilant was built in 1791
  • Decommissioned 14 November 1798 and sold at auction
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 35 t.
  • Length 48'
  • Beam 17'
  • Draft 6' 6"
  • Complement 10
  • Armament: Probably 10 muskets with bayonets; 20 pistols, two chisels and one broad axe
  • Propulsion: Sail.
