USLHT Holly

Holly served both the U.S. Lighthouse Service and U.S. Navy


Holly Class Lighthouse Tender:

  • Built in 1881 by Malster & Reaney, Baltimore, Maryland
  • Commissioned USLHT Holly 1 September 1881
  • Acquired by the Navy 15 April 1917
  • Returned to the Lighthouse Service on 1 July 1919
  • Decommissioned 1 August 1931
  • Sold 4 December 1931
  • Her owners removed her engine and converted her for use as the barge Wright No. 1
  • Destroyed in 1944.
