  • Built in 1911 by the Newport News Ship Building Co., Newport News, VA
  • Acquired by the Navy 11 December 1918 at Baltimore, MD and commissioned USS Montoso the same day
  • Decommissioned 1 March 1919 at Baltimore and returned to the United States Shipping Board for return to her owners
  • Struck from the Navy Register 13 March 1919
  • Sold to China in 1947 and renamed Chee Hsing
  • Renamed Starside in 1950
  • Scrapped in 1951.

  • Beam 46' 9"
  • Draft 20' 6"
  • Speed 10 kts.
  • Complement 34
  • Armament: Two 4"/50 mounts
  • Propulsion: Three single ended boilers, one 1,500hp vertical triple expansion steam engine, one shaft.
