  • Renamed USS Adirondack, 15 October 1920

  • Struck from the Naval Register, 6 June 1922 and sold to B. Mitchell, New Orleans, LA.

    Underwriter 71k Civilian tug Underwriter prior to World War I, probably in the vicinity of New Orleans, LA. Built in 1881 and rebuilt in 1903, this tug was acquired by the Navy on 1 July 1918 and commissioned on 9 August of that year as USS Underwriter (ID-1390). Later redesignated YT-44, she was renamed Adirondack on 15 October 1920 and sold on 6 June 1922

    Underwriter 64k Civilian tug Underwriter prior to World War I, probably in the vicinity of New Orleans, LA. This tug became USS Underwriter (ID # 1390) in mid-1918. She was redesignated YT-44 on 1 July 1920 and renamed Adirondack later in that year.
