  • Laid down in 1942 as the Maritime Commission type VE-ME-A1 harbor tug Port Elizabeth, (MC hull 444) by Calumet Shipyard and Dry Dock Co., Chicago, IL.
  • Launched, 22 May 1942
  • Renamed Namequa and classified YT-331, 29 September 1942
  • Acquired from the War Shipping Administration (WSA) by the US Navy, 15 October 1942
  • Placed in service as Namequa (YT-331)17 February 1943, allocated to the 1st Naval District at Boston, MA.
  • Reclassified Harbor Tug (Large) YTB-331, 15 May 1944
  • Laid up in reserve from March to October 1946
  • Reactivated in October 1946 in the First Naval District
  • Placed out of service, date unknown
  • Struck from the Naval Register in June 1950
