  • Contract awarded, 16 June 1941
  • Laid down in 1941 as the Lend-Lease Harbor Tug Resolute (BYT-5), for Britain, by General Motors and Gulfport Boiler and Welding Works, Port Arthur, TX.
  • Launched, date unknown
  • Completed in 1942
  • Acquired by the Royal Navy, commissioned HMT Resolute, date unknown
  • Acquired by the US Navy, 16 May 1943 and placed in service Evea (YT-458)
  • During World War II Evea was first assigned to the Europe-Africa-Middle East Theater and participated in the following campaigns:

    Europe-Africa-Middle East Campaigns
    Campaign and Dates Campaign and Dates
    Sicilian occupation, 9 to 15 July 1943 Invasion of Southern France, 15 August to 25 September 1944
    Salerno landings, 9 to 21 September 1943  

  • Reclassified as Large Harbor Tug YTB-458, 15 May 1944
  • Placed out of service, 11 November 1944 and transferred under Lend-Lease to France, commissioned into the France navy as FNS Malabar
  • Returned to US custody in 1949
  • Transferred to the State Department for disposal, sold to France
  • Struck from the Naval Register, date unknown
  • Final Disposition, FNS Malabar sank in 1967
  • Evea earned three battle stars for World War II service
