  • Served in South Atlantic Blockading Squadron, 1863 - 1865
  • Decommissioned at New York Navy Yard, 18 August 1865
  • Sold at auction by Burdett, Jones & Co., to Smith & Downing for $16,400, 05 September 1865
  • Probably documented as merchant Annie (ON 575), 22 November 1865
  • Final disposition, burned at Point Clear, AL, 19 April 1889

    100k Nerium oleander,most commonly known as oleander or nerium, is a shrub or small tree cultivated worldwide in temperate and subtropical areas as an ornamental and landscaping plant. It is the only species currently classified in the genus Nerium, belonging to subfamily Apocynoideae of the dogbane family Apocynaceae. It is so widely cultivated that no precise region of origin has been identified, though it is usually associated with the Mediterranean Basin.
