  • Completed as tug Zouave, 1863
  • Purchased by Navy from New York and Glen Cove Steam Navigation Co. for $38,000, 14 December 1863
  • Commissioned USS Pink, 06 February 1864
  • Served in North Atlantic Blockading Squadron, April - July 1864
  • Served in West Gulf Blockading Squadron, August 1864 - September 1865
  • Ran aground and bilged off Dauphin Island, AL, while trying to make Sand Island Light in gale, 22 September 1865
  • (Some sources indicate she was salvaged and sold for further service)
