Sassaba Class District Harbor Tug:
  • Laid down, 17 August 1944, at the Coast Guard Yard, Curtis Bay, MD.
  • Launched, 28 October 1944
  • Delivered to the Navy and placed in service as Windigo (YTB-421), 6 April 1945
  • Initially allocated to the Pacific Fleet's, 1st Fleet
  • Reassigned to the western Pacific in 1946, temporarily at the Operating Base Leyte-Samar, P.I., and finally to her permanent home at Naval Station Subic Bay, P.I.
  • Reclassified District Harbor Tug, Medium YTM-421 in February 1962
  • Placed out of service in reserve in October 1971 at Pearl Harbor
  • Reassigned in 1973 while still in reserve to the Pacific Reserve Fleet at Guam, M.I.
  • Struck from the Naval Register in June 1976
  • Final Disposition, disposed of in support of Fleet training exercise, 1 August 1976
