Built in 1925 as the Coast Guard patrol vessel CG-225 at Colonna’s Shipyard, Inc. Norfolk VA.
Commissioned into US Coast Guard service in 1925
Transferred to the Ninth Naval District, 1 May 1934
Placed in service as YP-28 for Naval Reserve training until October 1940
Reassigned to San Juan, Puerto Rico, 12 May 1941
A 27 April 1943 memo noted, however, that she was "too small and lacking in characteristics suitable for adaptation to Inshore Patrol activities, particularly in regard to berthing facilities."
Coast Guard crew reported aboard, 28 April 1943
Assigned to the 10th Naval District for use as a Harbor Patrol Craft
Returned to the Navy, 6 October 1944, at Frontier Base, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Coast Guard crew removed
