  • Built in 1937 as the Fishing Trawler FV Liberty by Campbell Machine Co. San Diego CA. for Frank Gonsalves Jr.
  • Acquired by the US Navy in 1942, modified to serve as a refrigerated cargo vessel and placed in service as YP-278
  • During World War II YP-278 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater
  • Returned to her owner, Frank Gonsalves, Jr., in 1946
  • Sold to Sun Harbor Packing Co. in 1948, renamed FV Sun Splendor
  • Resold in 1965 to J.B. Vattuone renamed FV Invader
  • Final Disposition, sunk by collision at sea, 9 July 1979 off Baja California, at 29.28N / 117.12W
