    YP-493 2109k YP-493, YP-472, YP-478 and YP-476 underway in the waters of the Sixth Naval District during World War II. Patrol vessels of this type were locally known as "Shrimpers", reflecting their origin as commercial fishing boats. The original photograph is in Volume I of the Sixth Naval District's World War II historical report (First Draft Narrative, preceding page 67) held by the Navy Library, May 2010.
