  • During World War II USS YP-518 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater
    Records indicate that USS YP-518 was in port Auckland. N.Z. between 13 August 1943 and 10 September 1943 and at Espirtu Santos, New Hebrides Island, 1 December 1943
  • Decommissioned and struck from the Naval Register, at Hawaii, date unknown
  • Returned to former owners, Italo, John and Louis Vittuone
  • Place in commercial service as the tuna clipper FV Commodore at San Diego, CA. by the Vittuone family
