House Boat (Self-propelled)
  • Built in 1913 as the steel-hulled sidewheel steamer Alameda by New York Shipbuilding, Camden, N.J. for the Southern Pacific RR Co., San Francisco, CA.
  • Assembled at Oakland, CA.
  • Acquired by the US Navy, 8 July 1944
  • Declared surplus and placed out of service, 25 September 1946
  • Transferred to the Maritime Commission for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, Suisun Bay, Benecia CA.
  • Sold for scrapping, 29 July 1947, to Moore Dry Dock Co., Oakland, CA. as part of a lump sum purchase along with former Southern Pacific RR ferry boats Calistoga, Hayward, Tamalpais, and Santa Clara for $9,040
  • Final Disposition, delivered to Moore Dry Dock for dismantling, 17 October 1947
