  • Built by Osborn Boat Works, Croton-on-Hudson, NY
  • Completed as passenger steamer Shady Side (ON 211757), 1913
  • Purchased by Navy and designated SP-2079, 19 February 1918
  • Designated Yard Ferryboat (YFB-2079), 17 July 1920
  • Assigned as ferry between Naval Academy, Annapolis and the Naval Engineering Experiment Station (now Severn River Naval Complex)
  • Foundered after developing leaks in storm, 16 March 1925
  • Raised next day, declared unfit for further service
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 09 May 1925
  • Sold to William Mattson, Baltimore, MD, 24 September 1925
  • Rebuilt, dieselized and sold to Edenton Mackeys Ferry Co., Edenton, NC, name retained, 1926
  • Final disposition, burned at Fairfield, NC, 08 January 1931
