Completed as passenger steamer Shady Side (ON 211757), 1913
Purchased by Navy and designated SP-2079, 19 February 1918
Designated Yard Ferryboat (YFB-2079), 17 July 1920
Assigned as ferry between Naval Academy, Annapolis and the Naval Engineering Experiment Station (now Severn River Naval Complex)
Foundered after developing leaks in storm, 16 March 1925
Raised next day, declared unfit for further service
Struck from the Naval Register, 09 May 1925
Sold to William Mattson, Baltimore, MD, 24 September 1925
Rebuilt, dieselized and sold to Edenton Mackeys Ferry Co., Edenton, NC, name retained, 1926
Final disposition, burned at Fairfield, NC, 08 January 1931
