  • Built in 1917-18 as the cargo ship CS Silverado by Craig Shipbuilding, Long Beach CA
  • Delivered in April 1918 to the US Army Signal Corp.
  • Laid up in reserve in 1920s
  • Purchasd, 22 June 1932, by Silverado Steam Ship Co.
  • Reacquired by purchase by the War Shipping Administration,14 June 1942, from the Silverado Steam Ship Co., for $186,985.00
  • USACS Silverado was requisitioned to replace USAT Dellwood on maintaining the Alaska cable network
  • Laid up in the Olympia National Defense Reserve Fleet in 1946
  • Declared surplus to the War Shipping Administration needs, 11 October 1946
  • Final Disposition, Sold sold for scrapping, 7 May 1948, to F. McDonald (PD-X-443) for $10,000.00, withdrawn, 25 May 1948
