    LT. GEN. William B. Bunker - William Beehler Bunker (30 September 1910 – 5 June 1969) was a United States Army lieutenant general who served as deputy commanding general of the United States Army Materiel Command from April 1964 until his death in 1969. Though not an aviator himself, he was largely responsible for the acquisition of close combat support aircraft for the Army before and during the Vietnam War. (Wikipedia)

Bunker returned to the Army watercraft fleet in November after the successful completion of its six-month On Condition Cyclic Maintenance and three-month Service Life Extension Program (SLEP), which returned 10 years of useful life to the vessel.

    LT. GEN. William B. Bunker 30100404 122k Waterborne Soldiers of the 10th Transportation Battalion spend the morning of 7 February 2012, loading vehicles on board USAV Lt. Gen. William B. Bunker (LSV-4), at 3rd Port, Fort Eustis as part of a battalion Field Training Exercise conducted at Fort Eustis and Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek. When loading was complete Lt. Gen. William B. Bunker (LSV-4) sailed down the James River to Little Creek where she dropped her ramp so Army transporters assigned to the 359th Inland Cargo Transfer Company may begin the transfer of vehicles to the battalion's collection point.

William B. Bunker to assist Soldiers with waterborne air assault training, 11 February 2015, in the Pacific Ocean. The Soldiers, from 25th Infantry Division’s Lightning Academy Air Assault School, using CH-47 Chinook helicopters from 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th ID, air assaulted onto the deck of the vessel while it was underway in the Pacific Ocean, miles from shore.
