  • USAT Evangeline served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II
  • Reacquired, 19 February 1946, by Eastern Steamship Lines under a General Agency Agreement
  • Refitted and refinished at the Bethlehem Steel Corp shipyard and returned to passenger service in May 1947
  • Laid up 1948 to 1953
  • Sold in April 1954 to Volusia Steamship Co., Liberia, reflagged Panama
  • Sold in 1963 to the Chadade Steamship Co., renamed SS Yarmouth Castle, operated by Yarmouth Cruise Lines between Miami and Nassau
