  • Launched, 29 March 1873
  • Delivered to William Inman, Liverpool, England in July 1873, named SS City of Chester
  • Entered service in 1875 for Inman Steamships Co. Ltd., Liverpool
  • Name shortened to Chester in when Inman was taken over by American Line in 1893
  • Purchased by the U.S. Army, 27 July 1898 for $200,000
  • Commissioned USQMD Sedgwick in 1898
  • Retired from U.S Army service, cira 1905
  • Sold in 1905 to an Itlaian firm, renamed Arizona, re-flagged Italy
  • Sold in 1906 t0 Soc. Metallurgica Meridionale, Naples, renamed Napoletano
  • Final Disposition, broken up in April 1907
