    Enrique Garcia was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. 03 October 1880. He served in the Puerto Rican Volunteers from 1899 to 1916, rising to the rank of post quartermaster sergeant. When the United States entered the Great War, Garcia was made a captain and then promoted to major in the Quartermaster Corps of the US Army. He was honorably discharged 27 October 1919 and a month later enlisted in the Army as quartermaster sergeant. He was commissioned a captain 01 July 1920 and transferred to the Twelfth Infantry. Later he was transferred back to the Quartermaster Corps and retired in 1921 for disability in the line of duty. he died at San Diego, California, 23 March 1932, and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
