  • Completed for the Sinclair Refining Co., New York, NY, as tanker Virginia Sinclair (ON 230365), December 1930
  • Transferred to WSA (War Shipping Administration) control at Havana, Cuba, 20 April 1942
  • Operated along US Gulf coast, July - October 1942
  • Made one deployment to Mediterranean in support of Operation Torch, November 1942 - January 1943
  • Resumed operations in Gulf of Mexico, January 1943
  • Final disposition, torpedoed and sunk by German submarine U-185 off Cape Maysi, Cuba, 10 March 1943
  • All survivors were rescued by SC-742
    Seven crewmen died in service aboard and remain on duty
