  • Built in 1900-01 as the cargo ship SS Mauch Chunk by Union Dry Dock Corp., Buffalo, N.Y.
  • Launched, date unknown
  • Completed and delivered in June 1901 to the Lehigh Valley Transportation Co.
  • Sold to the Great Lakes Transit Corp. in 1920, renamed SS W.J. Conners
  • Title acquired by the War Shipping Administration, 29 June 1942, from the Great Lakes Transit Corp.
  • Allocated to the War Department Transportation Corps., 26 April 1943
  • Modified for service as a Marine Repair Ship, dates and location unknown
  • USAMRS W.J. Conners was operated by a Coast Guard crew with administrative control retained by the Army
  • USAMRS W.J. Conners was assigned to the Southwest Pacific Area during World War II
  • Delivered by the War Department, 16 June 1947, to the War Shipping Administration for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, Astoria, OR.
  • Returned, 15 September 1947, to the Great Lakes Transit Corp.
  • Withdrawn, 15 September 1947, from the Astoria Reserve Fleet by Overlakes Freighting Corp.
  • Renamed SS Haeringur in 1948, reflagged Iceland
  • Final Disposition, scrapped in 1957
