USED Towboat T.P. Roberts


Sternwheel Towboat:
  • Built in 1906 for the US Army Engineers, at Marietta, OH. by the Hammitt Yard, Pittsburgh, PA.
  • Launched in 1906
  • Delivered to the US Army Engineers Pittsburgh District in 1906
  • Named for Col. T. P. Roberts, long associated with the USED at Pittsburgh and son of W. Milnor Roberts, a pioneer in river construction work
  • Christened and and put into service as USED Towboat T.P. Roberts in 1906
  • Retired from Army service, date unknown
  • Sold in 1926 at public auction to the Morgan Davis Dock Co., renamed Morgan Davis used for job towing for a year
  • Final Disposition, retired circa 1927-28, sank and dismantled at Glenwood, PA., date unknown
