USED Towboat Fury


Stern-wheel Composite Towboat:
  • Built in 1891 at Dubuque, IA. for the US Army Corps of Engineers
  • Launched in 1891
  • Delivered to the US Army Corps of Engineers, in 1891
  • Christened commissioned and and put into service as USED Fury in 1891
  • Assigned to the US Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island and St Paul Districts
  • Retired from Army service and sold in May 1931 to CAPT. Walter Blair
  • Re-sold in October 1939 to Fred Kahlke
  • Fury towed a showboat in 1941 for Oscar Bloom of Chicago
  • Final Disposition, dismantled in 1942 at Paducah, KY. and scrapped
