Stern-wheel Towboat:
  • Built in 1909 by Howard Shipyard, Jeffersonville, IN. for the US Army Corps of Engineers
  • Launched in 1909
  • Christened and and put into service as USED Kentucky in 1909
  • Assigned to the US Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District
  • USED Kentucky worked mainly on the Kentucky River
  • Wooden hull replaced with a steel hull in 1921 by Nashville Bridge Co. (148'5" x 32' x 5'5")
  • Retired from Army service, date unknown
  • Sold in 1947 Charles Zublik, Pittsburgh, PA.
  • Final Disposition, re-sold in 1947 to Hatfield Campbell Creek Coal Co., and dismantled at Point Pleasant, W.VA.
