  • Built in 1899 at Cincinnati, OH. for the US Army Corps of Engineers
  • Launched in 1899
  • Christened and and put into service as USED Towboat Emerald in 1899
  • Emerald was a small single deck one-stack towboat assigned to the US Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District
  • USED Emerald worked on the Kentucky, Green and Barren Rivers
  • In 1915 her dimensions were increase to 76'8" x 14' x 3'3"
  • Retired from Army service, date unknown
  • Sold in 1918 to unknown buyer, renamed Sailor Boy
  • Resold in 1920 to CAPT. Ino F. Klein
  • Final Disposition, stranded at Madison, IN. about 1922
