  • Built in 1944 at St. Louis Ship & Steel Co., St. Louis, MO. (DPC hull # 619), for the Defense Plant Corporation (DPC)
  • Launched in 1944
  • Delivered in 1944 to Defense Plant Corporation in 1944
  • Chartered to Federal Barge Line, ST. Louis, MO.
  • Acquired by the US Army Army Corps of Engineers in March 1947
  • Christened and and put into service as USED Towboat Mateur in 1947
  • Assigned to the US Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District
  • Decommissioned and retired from Army service in 1978
  • Acquired by East Mississippi Community College at Mayhew, MS. Tied up on the Topmbigbee River at Columbus, MS. and used for offices, classrooms, and as dormitory for the deckhand training school
  • Listed for sale, 21 November 1988
  • Reportedly bought in the spring of 1989 by D. James Jurner to be converted to a floating restaurant at Davenport, IW.
  • Sold in 1991, renamed M/V Effie Afton
  • Converted to a floating restaurant at Rock Island, IL. from 1994 to 2009
  • Final Disposition, fate unknown
