Sternwheel Towboat:
  • Built in 1899 at Dubuque, IA. by the Iowa Iron Works for the Mississippi River Commission
  • Launched in 1899
  • Delivered to the Mississippi River Commission, circa 1899
  • Turned over in 1902 to the US Army Engineers, St. Louis District
  • Christened, commissioned and placed in service, circa 1902, by the U.S. Engineering Department as USED Towboat Sachem
  • Sachem worked on the Mississippi River
  • Transferred in 1919 to the Mississippi River Dredging District
  • Transferred in 1921 to the US Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District
  • Retired from Army service, circa 1925
  • Sold at public sale by USE Memphis, 10 September 1925
  • Final Disposition, Dismantled
