USED Towboat Mildred


Towboat:
  • Built in 1900 at Madison, IN.
  • Launched in 1900
  • Delivered in 1900 to her owners, Sheridan-Krrk Contracting
  • In December 1905 she sank near Lock 13 on the Ohio River, raised and repaired
  • 29 January 1918 she sank near Dam 31 on the Ohio River, declared a total loss
  • Purchased, 2 February 1920, by US Army Corps of Engineers
  • Assigned to US Army Corps of Engineers, Cincinnati District
  • Commissioned, circa 1920 as USED Towboat Mildred
  • USED Mildred served on the Ohio River
  • A 1 December 1925 report by CAPT. Edward Maurer, U.S. Inspector of Hulls, rendered her in bad condition
  • Retired from Army service, date unknown
  • Purchased by Williams Bros., machinery use in their Steamboat Rivall
  • Final Disposition, fate unknown
