Sternwheel Snagboat / Towboat:
  • Built in 1903 as the towboat / snagboat General Theodore Schwann by Riter-Conley Co., Leesdale, PA.
  • Launched, circa 1903
  • Christened, commissioned and placed in service as USED General Theodore Schwann, circa 1903
  • Assigned to the US Army Engineers Pittsburgh District
  • Name shortened to USED Swan in 1907
  • USED Swan was often used to do repair work around the locks and dams on the upper Ohio, Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers.
  • Retired from Army service, circa 1932
  • Sold in 1932 to CAPT. W. H. Muller of Glenwillard, PA., renamed William Muller
  • Sold in 1933 to Constanzo Coal Co. of Wheeling, WV, renamed Richland.
  • Final Disposition, dismantled in the spring of 1941 and became a landing boat in Cincinnati.
