  • Delivered in three section, 23 October 1942, for trans-shipping to Mare Island Navy Yard, Vallejo, CA. for assembly
  • Launched and placed in service at Mare Island Navy Yard, November 1942
  • During World War II LCT(5)-64 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater:
    LCT Flotilla Five, LCDR Paul A. Wells;
    LCT Group Thirteen;
    LCT Division Twenty Six and participated in the following campaigns:

    220k Australian troops of the Royal Australian 6th Division embark in LCT(6)-927 and LCT(5)-64 at Boram, New Guinea, 13 October 1945. The LCTs will take them out to deeper water to board HMAS Katoomba to return home to Australia.
