Jessamine served both the Navy and Coast Guard

Patrol Yacht:

  • Built in 1907 by J. M. Bayles and Son, Port Jefferson, NY
  • Commissioned USS Jessamine (SP 438), 14 June 1917
  • Delivered to the Navy 2 July 1917
  • Renamed SP-438 in 1918
  • Transferred to the Coast Guard 2 December 1919 and commissioned USCGC Javelin
  • Sold 31 July 1922
  • Dropped from the Coast Guard Register in 1923
  • Sold 31 July 1923 to A. G. Liggett and Son of Wyandotte, MI for $500.00
  • Registered in 1926 to Fred W. Warner of Detroit, MI as the yacht Javelin
  • Fate unknown.
