District Patrol Craft:

  • Built by the Moran Co., Seattle, WA as Tyee Junior for the Tyee Whaling Co. of Admiralty Island, AK
  • Launched in 1907
  • Acquired in 1913 by the North Pacific Sea Products Co. of Akutan, AK and renamed Tanginak
  • Inspected by the Navy in 1917 and assigned the identification number ID-1482, but saw no naval service
  • Acquired by the Coast Guard 9 March 1943 and commissioned USCGC Caddo (WYP 174)
  • Decommissioned 16 March 1944 and returned to her owners
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 372 t.
  • Length 103'
  • Beam 17' 7"
  • Draft 11' 8"
  • Complement 10
  • Armament: One 20mm mount and two small depth charge tracks
  • Propulsion: One 350shp steam engine, one shaft.
