441k Ex-Konoka (YTM-151) operating as the Brown Marine Service, Inc. of Pensacola, FL, tug Emma Brown at sea about 3 miles off Destin, FL, with a tow of boxcars and a barge during the construction of an artificial reef for Escambia, Okaloosa and Walton counties, circa 1991. CSX donated the boxcars for reef construction and Brown Marine Service deployed sixteen of them (four at a time using a specially outfitted deck barge you see in the photos) about 3 miles off of Destin, Florida. They proved to be unacceptable as they deteriorated much too fast and the future use of boxcars as reef material was scrapped. Steven M. Bryan, Sr.
