  • Laid down, 5 October 1944, as a Maritime Commission type (C2-S-AJ3) hull, under Maritime Commission contract (MC hull 1698) at North Carolina Shipbuilding, Wilmington, N.C.
  • Launched, 29 November 1944
  • Commissioned USS Ottawa (AKA-101), 8 February 1945, LCDR. Jackson Mizell, USNR, in command
  • During World War II Ottawa was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater
  • Following World War II Ottawa performed occupation duty in the Far East
  • Decommissioned, 10 January 1947, at Norfolk, VA.
  • Returned to the Maritime Commission, 28 January 1947
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 14 March 1947
  • Sold by the Maritime Commission to Luckenbach Steamship Lines, Inc., renamed SS Andrea F. Luckenbach
  • Final Disposition, lost due to stranding three miles off Kohala Point, Kauai, Territory of Hawaii, 11 March 1951
