  • 05 August 1965: Commissioned at Charleston, S.C., Cdr George F. Tolson Jr. in command, assigned to Destroyer Squadron 4 homeported at Charleston
  • 30 June 1975: Reclassified Frigate (FF 1044)
  • 31 March 1989: Decommissioned after 23 years and 8¾ months of service, leased to Pakistan, renamed PNS Harbah (F-266)
  • 19 August 1994: Struck from the NVR

It is the largest sailing event in the world, and also one of the largest Volksfeste in Germany, attracting millions of people every year from all over Germany and neighbouring countries).
