Underwood 509k 11 April 2006: Cartagena, Colombia - Sailors assigned to Underwood march through the streets of Columbia during Cartagena's annual Navy Parade. The parade featured special marching units from several countries including Brazil, Colombia, France, Holland and Mexico. Underwood is part of the George Washington Carrier Strike group participating in Partnership of the Americas, a maritime training and readiness deployment of the U.S. Naval Forces with Caribbean and Latin American countries in support of Southern Command's (SOUTHCOM) objectives for enhanced maritime security.

Underwood 108k 04 May 2006: Puerto Castilla, Honduras - President of the Republic of Honduras, Jose Manuel Zelaya, receives honors from sideboys aboard the guided missile frigate Underwood. President Zelaya toured Underwood and thanked the crew for their outstanding community relations efforts in Honduras. Underwood 97k 08 June 2006: Boston, Mass. - Boiler Technician 3rd Class Karl Martin assigned to the guided-missile frigate Underwood reunites with his son and parents immediately following the ships docking at the Black Falcon Pier in Boston. Underwood's arrival to Boston kicks off festivities for the second annual Boston Navy Week. Twenty-four such weeks are planned this year in cities throughout the U.S., arranged by the Navy Office of Community Outreach. NAVCO is tasked with enhancing the Navy's brand image in areas with limited exposure to the Navy.

Orlando Ramos assigned to the guided-missile frigate Underwood speaks with two children at a "Caps for Kids" visit to the Jimmy Fund Clinic at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Underwood is in Boston to celebrate the 2nd annual Boston Navy Week.

Underwood 626k 02 July 2007: Mayport, Fla. - Photos of the homecoming of guided-missile frigate USS Underwood (FFG 36) to Mayport, Fla. While deployed Underwood conducted more than 35 boarding missions in support of Commander Task Force 158 operations in the Persian Gulf.

Underwood 150k 07 December 2009: the Atlantic Ocean - Pearl Harbor survivor Ed Kimic throws a bouquet of flowers overboard from the guided-missile frigate USS Underwood (FFG 36) during a ceremony in remembrance of the lives lost on 07 December 1941. More than 200 friends and family members gathered to pay their respects.

Underwood 376k 25 January 2010: Port-Au-Prince, Haiti - Rear Adm. Ted N. Branch, commander of Carrier Strike Group (CVW) 1, addresses and thanks sailors assigned to the guided-missile frigate Underwood for their commitment to Operation Unified Response. Underwood is conducting humanitarian and disaster relief operations as part of Operation Unified Response after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake caused severe damage near Port-au-Prince, Haiti on 12 January.

Underwood 139k 20 October 2011: Mayport, Fla. - Cmdr. Peter Mirisola, the commanding officer of the guided-missile frigate Underwood, receives a $1,000 check for the ship's Morale Welfare and Recreation account from Raytheon Company representative Ronald Hoppock. Raytheon presented the money to the crew along with a plaque for winning the 2011 Phalanx Close-In Weapons System (CIWS) Excellence Award.
