  • Converted for MSC service at National Steel and Ship Building Co., San Diego, CA.
  • Placed in service in 1998, under the direction of the Military Sealift Command (MSC) as USNS Soderman (T-AKR-299), operated by Bay State Management Inc.
  • Placed out of service in 2000 for conversion
