  • Laid down, 25 September 1943, as a Maritime Commission type (T2-SE-A2) tanker hull under a Maritime Commission contract at Marinship Corp., Sausalito, CA.
  • Launched, 31 December 1943
  • Delivered to the Maritime Commission, 22 March 1944
  • Chartered to Los Angeles Tanker Operators, Inc.
  • Returned to the Maritime Commission, 25 April 1946, for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, Olympia, WA.
  • Acquired by the Navy, 21 October 1947
  • Placed in service by the Naval Transportation Service (NTS) as Mission San Raphael (AO-130) under charter to Union Oil Co.
  • Control transferred to the Military Sea Transportation Service (MSTS) 1 October 1949, redesignated USNS Mission San Rafael (T-AO-130)
  • Placed 0ut of service and returned to MARAD for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, Olympia, WA., 2 February 1955
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 22 June 1955
  • Reacquired by the Navy, 20 June 1956 and placed in service by MSTS under charter to Marine Transport Lines
  • Placed 0ut of service and returned to MARAD for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, Suisun Bay, Benecia, CA.
