  • Reclassified Net Laying Ship Precept (AN-73), 17 January 1944
  • Launched, 11 April 1944
  • Delivered to the Navy, 14 October 1944
  • Transferred under Lend Lease to the United Kingdom 14 October 1944
  • Commissioned HMS Precept (Z-266)
  • Custody returned to the US Navy, 4 January 1945, at Norfolk, VA.
