  • Laid down, as Androscoggin, a Maritime Commission type (T1-M-A2) tanker hull, under Maritime Commission contract (MC hull 1521), 15 December 1943, at East Coast Shipyards Inc., Bayonne, N.J.
  • Launched, 9 April 1944
  • Acquired by the US Navy from the Maritime Commission, 13 June 1944
  • Commissioned USS Sheepscot (AOG-24), 27 June 1944, LT. George A. Wagner, USCGR, in command
  • During World War II USS Sheepscot was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater
  • Final Disposition, ran aground and capsized off Iwo Jima, 6 June 1945, hulk was scrapped
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 1 November 1945
