Diligence (BAR-18) was transferred under terms of the Lend-lease Act to the Royal Navy before completion and commissioned HMS Diligence (F-174)
Laid down, 7 June 1944, as Diligence a Maritime Commission type (EC2-S-C1) hull Maritime Commission contract (MCE hull 2658) at Bethlehem-Fairfield Shipyard Inc., Baltimore, MD.
Launched, 31 July 1944
Delivered to the US Navy, 16 August 1944, as (AR-18)
Turned over to the Royal Navy for commissioning as HMS Diligence (F-174)
Returned to US Navy custody in 1946
Struck from the Naval Register and transferred to the Maritime Commission for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, Suisun Bay Group, Benecia, CA.
Final Disposition, in 1973 sold for scrapping at Karachi, Pakistan
